Certified Nurse Life Care Planner Certification Board Overview
The Certified Nurse Life Care Planners (CNLCP®) Certification Board invites applicants to apply for the current board member position(s).

The CNLCP® Certification Board purpose is to:

  • Establish criteria and direct the Initial Certification Process and Recertification Process for Nurse Life Care Planners.
  • Oversee and maintain the national certification examination.
  • Develop the item writing for the test questions for Nurse Life Care Planner certification.
  • Develop criteria and oversee the approval process for Core Curriculum Providers and Continuing Education Providers of educational programs for the CNLCP.
  • Address any public concerns with regards to the CNLCP.
  • Direct the application process to CNLCP accreditation by the American Board Of Nursing Specialty.

The Board coordinates its business goals and objectives via monthly telephone conference calls with additional calls as needed. In person meetings occur once or twice per year. Board members agree to work on tasks to help meet the strategic needs of the Certification Board. Queries from members and/or the public occur as received.

The CNLCP® Certification Board member is a two year commitment. In the first year, the board member assists in assigned tasks. In the second year, the member will usually serve in an executive level such as Chair, Co-Chair, Secretary or Treasurer.

This volunteer position carries no stipend. Expenses (to be determined) are reimbursed for in-person annual meetings depending on the budget constraints of the Board.

The Certification Board benefits include twenty continuing education (CE) hours upon completion of the full two (2) years of volunteer service, and recognition as a Board member. Moreover, as a Certification Board member you will be making a substantial contribution to the CNLCP specialty. Applicant musts have current CNLCP certification, an unrestricted current RN license, and current AANLCP® membership in good standing.
